These ramped steps were a great improvement on the dilapidated and very steep steps that went straight up the embankment. Unfortunately the replacement is not a continuous ramp but has shallow steps that make access difficult for mobility-impaired and those with wheels (pushchairs, cycles, wheelchairs). Some of these people may want to go down to the canalside to enjoy a short stretch of the towpath, even if they may not want to go far, or find it difficult to access other entrance/exit points. Additionally, this access point is ideal for off-road walking/cycling to/from the station, but anyone having difficulty with steps cannot use it easily or at all.
